Many adults want straight teeth, but they do not want to spend time in brackets and wires, especially career-orientated individuals and older teens. Fortunately, there is an orthodontic system that is virtually invisible, making it a favorite among older teens and adults.

Your dentist in San Jose will let you know if Invisalign is a viable option for you and that it will give you the smile you have been looking for.

Invisalign in San Jose, CA

Invisalign starts with a conversation, x-rays, and an exam in our dental office. We want to make sure that you’re a good candidate for this treatment. In some situations, your dentist may recommend pretreatments to move you into candidacy—filling cavities, for example, or recommending a professional teeth cleaning.

If Invisalign will correct your aesthetic and bite issues, we take careful impressions of your teeth. The Invisalign lab relies on the results to create your clear aligners. These aligners are almost invisible, and it is unlikely that anyone will notice you’re wearing them.

You wear each aligner for approximately two weeks before switching to the next in the sequence, and you can remove them to brush, floss your teeth, and eat. Periodically, throughout treatment, you will visit the dentist to make sure your teeth are straightening on schedule across the treatment timeline. When you have exhausted your supply, your therapy is complete.

What Invisalign Corrects

Invisalign may correct the following:

  • Twisted, overlapping, and crowded teeth
  • Gaps or uneven spacing between teeth
  • Bite alignment issues like overbite, crossbite, and underbite

And following your Invisalign treatment, your dentist provides a custom retainer to keep your teeth in their new straight positions.
