Technology improves the care we provide to our patients by allowing us to diagnose and treat with greater accuracy, comfort, and convenience.
Dr. Woodlief stays on top of the latest developments in modern dentistry and proudly invests in evidence-based advancements in order to provide the best dental care available.
Digital Impressions
Instead of gooey impression material for restorative dentistry procedures or working dental models, we use much more accurate digital impressions. We scan your teeth and upload the information into our software in order to create the most accurate results for patient treatment plans.
Our patients really appreciate the added comfort and accuracy this feature provides.
MLS Laser
The use of laser technology provides our patients with an alternative for pain relief. The MLS laser combines two wavelengths to decrease inflammation and stimulate blood flow to a painful area, allowing for relief right here in our office.
Digital X-Rays
Digital x-rays provide us with accurate diagnostic information while reducing radiation exposure by up to 80 percent. The implementation of digital dental x-rays into our San Juan dental practice gives us valuable information at our fingertips. We can compare images over time to monitor changes to your oral health.
Patients are sometimes concerned about dental x-rays and have questions about their necessity or safety. Victor D. Woodlief, DMD, takes only the x-rays necessary to accurately diagnose dental conditions that are not visible with the naked eye alone.
Regular dental x-rays help us to identify conditions that put your teeth at risk. Dental decay rarely causes pain until it is well advanced. Regular x-rays allow us to treat your condition when it is less complex, potentially saving your tooth.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous oxide is a sedative gas that we administer through a small nose mask.
If you have dental anxiety or difficulty getting numb, nitrous oxide sedation can help you enjoy comfortable treatment without stress or worry. Nitrous oxide is a mild sedative that enters your system quickly and has few residual effects. It wears off just moments after we stop administering it, making it possible for you to drive yourself home from your appointment.
Intraoral Camera
An intraoral camera allows us to show patients exactly what Dr. Woodlief sees when he looks at your teeth and gums. He can use this small handheld device to capture high-resolution images to describe dental conditions and treatment options in an instant right in our treatment room. We will save these digital images to compare over time, monitoring any changes to your oral health. We can also use these images as documentation to send along to your insurance company when they request additional documentation for approval.
